Busoga youths aligned to the National Resistance Movement (NRM) have launched a United Framework designed to enhance unity, discipline and coordinated political mobilisation ahead of the 2026 general elections.
The framework was unveiled at Fort Lugard in Iganga District by the NRM Busoga Regional Coordination Team led by Vice President Emeritus Dr Specioza Wandera Kazibwe.
The event brought together youth leaders from the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), the NRM Youth Council, the NRM Youth League and Patriotism Clubs from across the region.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Kazibwe urged youths to remain disciplined, focused and anchored in the core principles of the NRM, stressing that unity and ideological clarity are essential as the country moves toward the next general elections.
She said the future effectiveness of the party depends on disciplined and ideologically grounded youths who understand the values they represent, noting that cadre-ship, trust and focus are central to sustainable leadership and political stability.
PLU Busoga Regional Coordinator Samuel Nabeeta Mulowooza said the newly launched framework places household prosperity and wealth creation at the centre of political mobilisation and service delivery.
He highlighted skills development, education and practical problem-solving as key pathways to improving livelihoods across Busoga.
Mulowooza noted that when households are empowered to generate income and address challenges at community level, public trust in leadership grows and governance outcomes improve.
Former minister Daudi Migereko challenged youth leaders to uphold integrity and purpose in public service, reminding them that leadership is a responsibility that requires vision, consistency and commitment to serving the people.
Dr. Kazibwe commended the organisers for their patriotism and strong youth turnout, describing the initiative as a timely intervention to consolidate support for the NRM in Busoga.
The United Framework is expected to strengthen coordinated youth engagement, reduce internal fragmentation and reinforce unity within NRM structures in the region as preparations for the 2026 elections gather momentum.
